Feet, Fins & 4WD just arrived!
Hi "guys",
I just rec'd my copy and just kind of quickly perused through some of it, boy it looks like I'll have lots to investigate on my next visit! Lovin' it.
I do have a question re: the trails on STJ. Which ones are your faves and why. Please & Thank-you, I appreciate your willingness to share your wisdom and experiences of "paradise"!
Hubs & I would be "momless" on these trails but we're probably only in shape for moderate ones

I'm surprised, well it is Friday night and all, which reminds me I must get off this and get ready for dinner out w/ my honey.
jimg,
Sounds like you have a great Mother's Day gift for your sweetie. Enjoy the book and hopefully someone will reply soon.
Enjoy and have an awesome, safe trip
Kathy
I know there have been posts about hiking here, because I've read them. You might try a search and see what comes up. We bought that book before our trip, and it was our STJ bible. The directions and layout are very helpful. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the hiking, because we spent all our time at the beaches. I'm sure someone will post soon, though.

First get the Trail Bandit map...http://www.trailbandit.org/
Faves?
Brown Bay, from centerline road. About 2 miles to a beautifil beach and excellent snorkeling. The hike up (1 mi) is a gentle grade, then down to the beach (1 mi).
Skytop Road to Seiben ruins; I to K, #20 on the map. The trail follows a really remarkable old road.
If you're adventurous, do the Lameshur Bay Trail from Little Lameshur (favorite beach) to the Reef Bay Great House and Par Force ruins, then down to the Reef Bay sugar mill. Hike up to the petroglyphs before heading back to Little Lameshur. Bring water and wear hiking shoes. We did the circuit in the morning and arrived back at the beach for lunch and cold beers, and snorkeled-read-napped the afternoon away. The day is extended by bar-hopping and snacking at Shipwreck, Aqua Bistro, and Skinny's. Staring at the stars from the hot tub with a cold beverage is exactly how to end the day.
Happy hiking!
