Just booked the trip for Nov 29th to Dec13th

Post by Bill in Va »

Yo forum family....We just booked the airfare on Orbitz. Grand total of $791.58 for 2, including all fees. Go Dulles to San Juan then over to Stt on American, Return the 13th on US Scareways. Had some old frequent flyer miles and was able to get upgrade to the front of the bus going down. The plan is to have our honorary grandson and his folks along with a real grandmother on island during our two weeks. Mark from Seaviewhomes has us in Bejia Flor. Stayed there a few years ago. Nice pad and there has been some upgrades such as solar heating for the pool. This came down in one day by the way. All it took was a phone call from the Mom of the wonder child on Thursday and yours truely was rolling. You know you have it bad when you book your next trip to St John and still have another one yet to take. Its a beautiful thing...God bless....Bill

Hey Bill,

Make sure you check on your flights as the time nears. We booked out flight way out and actually got a LAX>FTL>SanJuan>STT w/minimal layover times arriving at noon. Well they rebooked it on our behalf and if we hadn't checked we would have had a layover for 8 hours and arrived on island at 6pm...YIKES anyhow American was very nice and rebooked something better for us, but just a warning...don't assume your flight will be the same one you booked months back!

Hi Bill,

Glad to here you booked another trip.

It looks like our trip will over lap a few days. When we get closer, maybe we can make plans to meet at the beach bar. We're there from Dec. 4th to the 19th, but on the boat so the schedule is up in the air.

Bill: You inspiried me to go on Orbitz and book for November. DH didn't put up an argument so I got to the computer and before I knew it we were going for 6 days (couldn't talk him into more). Two people leaving from Dulles rt to St Thomas for $791. We've done worse. Thanks for the tip and have a great time on your holiday!

We're trying to get down that week too!!

The flight last year was almost half of what I've been seeing. So I'm still waiting, but getting anxious. :( Has anyone else seen good rates from the northeast? USair is around $1,300 from Syracuse.

We'll be there from 11/29-12/6 and I got non-stop flights on AA for $270 out of Boston a couple of months ago, I couldn't pass up that deal!!
