Pond Bay Update

Post by RickG »

The Islandia Realty Blog has an update on the Pond Bay groundbreaking and an artists rendering of the pool area. This is a blog that gets updated regularly with a good attitude.

Rick, wasn't this the construction site that had a couple of pieces of heavy equipment "mysteriously" catch on fire and were destroyed?

St John Sensi Rick

Beginning of this month they had just finished clearing large piles of brush with a trackhoe. Neat as a pin. They also had all their stone suitably arranged in piles according to aggregrate size with the correct ratios or color that are ubiquitous. They also had excavated a foundation in a ledge and had a nice big pile of topsoil stockpiled. It really is amazing watching those guys use heavy equipment. I watched one day as the trackhoe operator held open the tailgate of a very large dump truck which wouldn't close while another worker scraped out the offending debris. Man out of the way he pushed the gate shut and the truck drove off. Makes me miss my Tonkas.

Drove by the site last Thursday. Lots of heavy equipment. Big pipes and junction boxes with pond bay spray painted on them spread around. Three or four containers were set up as workshops with a lot of wood work going on. There is a perhaps new building with extensive work going on closest to South Shore Road. Maybe a sales/property office?

We learned that our villa was to be taken over by a Pond Bay project manager when we left.

I'll take some updated photos of the site next week.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.

liamsaunt, Please do take those pictures and post them. We will be staying on that side of Chocolate Hole at the end of May and I have been looking to see some pics to see how our view will be impacted. Thanks
