Just decided last minute (almost) travel plans

Post by mfaughey »

My wife and I desperately need a St J refresher (this could be something like my 20th trip to the Island since '79) and can get great air fare from Jan 25 - Jan 30 - BUT I am having a problem finding a villa. Looking for clean, very good views, pool would be a plus for us - anyone have any leads? Prefer closer to Cruz Bay but Coral Bay is not out of the question.....

Thx

yehguafm,

cloud 9 on gifft hill shows availabilty for your dates. we've stayed there twice, views are breathtaking, has pool, hot tub, full ac and very comfortable. not luxury, but she's a clean and well equipped older villa. web site http://www.cloud9villas.com marcia appel is manager for normally on island owners. give her a call and tell her jerry bou says hello.

Can you tell me how deep the pool is at Cloud Nine? It looks like a wonderful place, esp with the loft area and extra sleeping in the living area.

cloud 9 pool

suzi,

last stay at c9 was dec 05, but as i recall the pool is 5 to 6 feet deep. plenty deep to be refreshing.

the great room has very good ac system and loft bedroom was treat for our ganddaughters during our stay in october 05, but the bath is on main level and minimum privacy for adults. c9 is ideal for 2 couples or a large family.

the small room to the left of the great room in the website picture is the kitchen. there are 4 doors facing the deck & view that can be folded back opening the kitchen to the deck/views. great for leisurely evening meals on the deck to watch the sunsets, the lighting of st thomas and the departing cruise ships.

yehguafm,

i assume you booked cloud 9. after posting a couple of responses re cloud 9, i got that stj itch again and had contacted marcie re moonsong (smaller & cheaper for 2 of us) for 1/19 to 1/26. had a email back that moonsong only available 20th to 27th but suggested c9 since she knew we liked so much. we were debating (but doubtful we would have committed).

we always do last minutes since we fly space available out of atl and must be careful on travel commitments. who knows, currently 12/25 flts back look good so maybe we will be leaving c9 as you arrive!

i'm always interested in others reaction to things the bride (in 41st yr) and i like about stj. pay in fwd and let us hear your reaction to c9 by post here or pm.

enjoy,

yehguafm,

couldn't stand it. just booked c9 for 1/19 arr, leave 12/25 just as you are arriving. no promises on leaving you any unconsumed spirits, but we will leave you a villa with a view you should throughly enjoy. if you have any specific questions while we're on island, call marcie and get villa phone number.

have a great trip and remember i'm looking for a report.
