Take TWO bathing suits, one cover up, 2 shorts, one capris for dinner w/a couple of nice tops...undies, snorkel gear, get sun screen there, everything can be bought at Kmart. You cannot carry on liquids remember just those sample sized thingies in a 1 quart zip lock bag. You can take a backpack as well as your carry on suitcase, I just did and used a fanny pack too. Have fun!

I do only take up the space needed for one carry-on in the overhead and put my tote under my seat, like a good girl. :D

I can't stand it when people turn their bag sideways so it takes up 2 spaces instead of one.

I can't stand it when people turn their bag sideways so it takes up 2 spaces instead of one.
You know, the weird thing about that is that my carry-on (which I use for work all the time) fits in straight on the vast majority of planes, but every once in awhile mine has to go sideways to fit, even on the same model of plane. It seems that sometimes you get some rogue overhead compartments that are an abnormal size. And I feel like a real jerk for putting my suitcase sideways in those rare instances. I've definitely seen people put them in sideways when they're small enough to go in straight though...usually the flight attendants fix them. Every time I board a flight I get this little feeling of panic and think "gosh, it better fit"...and it does 95% of the time. I'm flying on Monday and I was already thinking about it :oops:

Me too, I slide the carry on up into the bin and squish my back pack under the seat in front of me. First I take out my water bottle and book and then I don't have to haul it out again. I wear bicycle shorts under my long pants (I am always cold in a plane) and then I can just shuck off the long pants, grab the rental car and GO TO THE BEACH!

We laugh about having the same clothes on in pictures during each of our trips! I'm going to start hitting Sloop Jones at the beginning of our trips to get new clothes to wear.

brilliant rick...Now I know that I'm going to only bring the shirt i'm wearing, and buy more as neccessary at the gift shops (save water, save hassle, support local stores, and get some cool new shirts all at the same time) :) . Who wants to do laundry on VayCay?

That's funny...I was just having that same thought the other night. I figured I'd bring one change of shorts and t-shirt in addition to what I'm wearing and do some shopping on the island.

Speaking of that, I was looking at a map of the island somewhere online. We're from Vermont, I was suprised to see a Ben and Jerry's on the island. We live about 20 minutes from the original factory. It's a big tourist attraction in the summer...I was like, "Geez...we just can't escape VT!". :lol:
Still waiting to return to St. John!

Ben & Jerry's is for home, Udder Delight is for St. Thomas, plain or liquored up, you can't miss this icon. The ladies that serve might be slow but they rock! Talk 'em up, in fact be sure to say good morning, good evening to all the people you meet, it goes a million miles and brings out the smiles! If you are lucky, the big old gnip tree will have some fruit on it , just pop em in your mouth, bite, and pop the big slimy sweeeeeeet pit in your mouth. Don't swallow it though (the pit) LOL

Just did a dry run with the 3oz limits and the qt size bag. Looks like we'll be in good shape. Have a question though. Is shaving cream considered a liquid?

shaving cream is definitely a liquid. I usually take those "intuition razors" that have a cartridge where you don't need lotion. I think Venus makes a version too.. Good for the girls, but not so much for the guys, I guess!

I'm not sure if it's what you're referring to or not, but the smoothie shack/hut/truck sells some Ben & Jerry's products. It's near the intersection of 10 and 20...and it looks kinda like a truck just drove into the side of hill, parked, and started selling drinks :)
