You can pick up an FM receiver which gets plugged into the cigareete lighter. You tune it and the car radio to a empty station and the Ipod will play through the car radio. They come in many price points I think we got ours at Radio Shack

I still use the mp3 transmitter to play through a radio frequency. Not the best quality, but with the bumps and metal corrosion on St. John it works flawlessly for me. :)

We use my daughter's itrip. It worked well for us in STJ. It's crappy here at home though.

Hi,
I picked up this great little Sony speaker that I use in the car & also while we are at the villa to listen to our IPods. It was only $25.00
The sound is really good & it is so small, so makes it great for packing.

Compact & Slim Travel SpeakerModel: SRS-TP1PK

May be a thought

The very cool new Jeep Wrangler 4 doors have mini adapter jack (same size as an ipod headphone jack) as the AUX interface on the stereo. You just need to bring the cable. There's enough clearance that you can run the cable to the glove box and close the door.

Cheers, RickG

The new liberties have this too. Probably by the time I make it back to STJ Conrad will have some :) Maybe not!

You all are such techies! I get excited when the villa has a docking station.

If not, it's only used on the plane.
I am severely technologically challenged.

I have an iTrip, which is the little FM transmitter that I use in the car. I am thinking of getting one of those iHome speaker systems where the outside is water-resistant. You put your iPod inside, so I'm thinking it'd prevent the Great Soggy Dollar incident of 2007 from happening again. (I insured my phone and am getting waterproof housing for my camera. I learned my lesson!)

This is what it looks like. They come in all different colors. They are not on sale online, but they're cheaper in the stores right now.

We got an Otterbox after an unexpected island storm ruined our first iPod. I think Otterbox makes a protective box with speakers and it floats! I am sure other companies make these too. Very cool. We use travel speakers for the villa - they fold up very small and have great sound quality. -Christy
