Sea-nile,
This is the first I have come to the off-topic forum. I saw your note and wanted to offer my condolences to you and your friend. I hope knowing others care has helped.

Thanks again everyone! It has been really tough and I can't believe the response here!
I still have a hard time believing it and I almost asked my husband if he'd heard from him because they would talk several times a week!
I will be spending some time with his wife, my good friend this weekend.

Well Terese....seems my Mother will have a friend now....she too passed away 2 weeks ago. At the young age of 68!
She has been battleing COPD now for 8yrs. (Started smoking when she was just 9yrs. old up there in the farmyards in northern Minn.)
Came to Wisconsin when she was just 12yrs. Had 5 daughters by the time she was 22yrs. old, divorced by 27, ...then a Grandma at 32yrs. old!
Hate to say that I'm a bit relieved...but this past year has not been good for her. They finally told her in July of last year that there was nothing medically they could do for her anymore, so they had her on Hospice care. She died at her home with all 5 of her daughters, husband, a couple grandchildren & the newest great-grandaughter there holding her.
But she will never have to be afraid of not breathing anymore!
