Larlar Trip report day #2
Larlar Trip report day #2
Day 2:
Woke up to a cloudy day. But no worries we are in paradise! Eat some breakfast and pack lunches. I had brought down this nice collapsable cooler and we packed it up with water, sandwiches, and beer of course...
Off we go!
The infamous Cruz Views hill:

Had talked to a few people the night before who said the north shores were still a little rough so after stopping to get the obligatory pic at Trunk we headed to Salt Pond.

All I can say is I guess everyone had the same idea because it was crowded!! We found a nice little spot ALL the way at the end of the beach away from the crowds. We did get some good snorkeling in and some quality beach relaxation time...

Since we were close we walked out to Drunk Bay..

The sun started to come out...

Started to get hungry and I was so excited to take D to Skinny Legs for a burger. Coral bay was hopping as it was the end of the Blues Fest at the ballpark that night. We sat at the bar and each had an amazing burger and chatted with a nice couple who own a house out in the east end. They come down a couple times a year and let their kids use the house during the year as well. Talked about how much more crowded it seems down here compared to even 3 years ago which was the last time I was down..
And they were so kind to take our pic!

Came back showered and went to the Banana Deck and split the quesadillas...they are SO good! Headed over to the beach bar for a bit.
Crashed a little earlier tonight...BVI's tomorrow!!!
To be continued...

You guys are so cute! Thanks for sharing your trip with us. That hill does look like a killer. I don't know if I could hack it on foot.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
I bevlieve it's either Danish or Dutch for drowned. It's similar in Swedish. Drown is "drunkna" in Swedish, so the name makes totally sense to meliamsaunt wrote:Me!CariBert wrote:[ Any idea (besides the obvious) how drunk Bay got it's name? Anyone?
-Bert[/color]"Drunk" means "drowned" in um....some other language. Because the big waves and currents here make the bay dangerous for boats and people, it was named Drunk Bay as a caution. The explanation is in Feet, Fins, and Four Wheel Drive.

The same with caneel, it means cinnamon in both Swedish, Danish and Dutch.
