Having trouble recording

Post by nothintolose »

Okay - just got a new computer with Windows Vista on it. Everything is fine EXCEPT that I can't seem to burn songs off of my iPod. I copied the music (mostly downloaded from my own cd collection) from the old one and put it on the new one. They will play fine on my iPod and on my computer.

I am trying to make a mix cd though and I can't get it to work. The part that says "burn playlist" will not give me the option to click on it.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem???

Thanks in advance.

I "created a new playlist". Is that what you mean?

I don't think you can burn a disc from your iPod's playlist. I think the playlist needs to be in your iTunes library in order to burn it. I use a Mac and it won't even give me a "burn disc" option from the iPod playlist.

I know that Apple doesn't want people sharing the contents of their iPods. It would make it too easy for people to share music rather than buying it.

There is "reverse" software that you can download for free that will allow you to copy the content of your iPod to your iTunes library. I use a software called "iRip" I like it because it uses the same interface as iTunes. Google it and you will find it without a problem. It installs quickly and is easy to use.
