Capturing Google Earth Fly Mode

Post by Steve S »

Sherban et al-

Does anyone know how to capture a google earth "fly mode"? I'd like to use it in a presentation.

Hey Steve- Good question...

Getting fancy with the presentations, huh?

Hey, I'm not sure what you mean by "capturing", do you mean "capture" the video experience and imbed that video in a PPT pitch?...not sure how to do that...never had...

Can you just create the fly mode in GE or download one into your local copy of GE and use Google Earth to present it?

I've only ever done fly mode directly in GE, but I'm sure there is some video capture software out there that can capture GE fly mode running on your box...

I'd like to see how this plays out...it is a very cool idea, I've thought about it because we have alot of sites in the Americas (N and S) and thought a flythrough some of the sites would be cool...

Cool, I figured there had to be stuff out there...love their techie jargon..."it can be used for free if you don't mind to see a watermark or if you don't want a big resolution"....I'd love to have a big resolution :-)

I see they also mention snagit and camstudio as tools for capturing GE flybys...I'm still on the free version of GE...got a long ways to go...

That dude's dancing might be better labeled running in place...fun project they put together...

That reminds me of the Stealth Disco mini craze from about 4 or 5 years ago. www.stealthdisco.com is down now, but is you youtube or google video "stealth disco" you'll see some funny stuff.

Of course on STJ, there is no stealth... folks will just disco to your face.
