September is a fabulous time to go to Kauai. Not at all crowded, low rainfall, and the ocean water is at it's warmest from the summer. We love going in Sept. Plus it's hurrican season in STJ so why not try Kauai instead? You can get the smaller feel in Hawaii, especially on North Shore Kauai. We rent a cottage there (not a VILLA
)and then stay in a hotel on the South Shore.

Both of our trips to Kauai have been in September. The first time it just kind of worked out that way. The second time we planned it for September because it seemed like a really good time of year to be there. Weather and ocean on the north shore are still good and it's a low season, so fewer tourists around. When we go again, we'll probably try to plan if for September once again.
