First Post/Am I Missing Something?

Post by IslandTime »

My little hottie (don't be offended ladies she likes me to call her that) and I are planning on discovering St. John April 19-26. While on island we plan on hanging out at the beach, drinking some cocktails, hiking some trails, kayaking Cruz Bay, snorkeling (well I am ,she's afraid of sea critters!) Sailing to Jost on Survivan (hopefully) and chillin' at the villa. We are staying at Caribbean Cove. Did I mention hanging at beach and drinking some cocktails? Have I forgotten anything? Are there any must see or must do's that I need to know about? Who is Pam? I appreciate all of the great tips that I have come across. You forum regulars sound like a fun bunch of people!

islandtime,

we'll be there too starting the 22nd. Although we'll miss you at the beach bar, you'll likely see us doing the same thing as you-- hanging out on the beach, drinking cocktails. I'm not a big fan of sea critters either, but I do enjoy watching them from the safety of my raft, cocktail in hand!

one "must do" is skinny legs in coral bay. and several "must drinks" are lime-n-coconuts (my favorite is prepared by woodys), vi pale ale, and painkillers!

Sounds good to me! I read where thats where you meet. We were thinking about heading back over to STT later that night for Carnival but I don't much about it or the logistics. Maybe thats a whole other topic?

Now we're talking! I think I've been dreaming about Painkillers! I've never had one so I'm looking forward to losing my virginity on that drink! Let's hope it's kind to me the next morning

One of my favorite places for a painkiller is
the little snack shack at trunk bay. Katherine makes
the best. If your not gettning food, just walk
up on the side.

You might want to check out the horseback riding place near Coral Bay - beautiful views all along the Johnny Horn Trail. Great guide! When my hubby & I went, it was just the two of us along with the guide.

You also might want to rent a dinghy & stop off at a beautiful beach on the North Shore that is deserted. Bring some lunch & spirits, and, of course, your camera.
My dream is to live on St. John & vacation in Wisconsin(only in Summertime)!

Could the Pam you're referring to be the author of Feet, Fins, & Four Wheel Drive? I think she does island tours and her book is a must! Do yourself a favor and get one.

Also, you may want to consider a daytrip out on the water or take the ferry to Jost for the day. A dinghy is fun! I am sure you will love it as we all do and come down with a big case of DIF. Have a great time!!!

Caribbean Cove looks like a great villa and I haven't seen a report about it. So be sure and tell us how it was after you get back.

Oh, and it sounds like you have a good handle on the main island activities!

Me Too, I'm really interested in hearing how the "beach" is.
