I am so sorry.

I actually just got off the phone with a friend whose husband died a few weeks ago. He was in his fifties. And then I signed on and saw this.

So many reminders to live each day.

I'm so sorry to hear this! You and your friend's family will be in my prayers. I've heard so many similar stories lately that everytime I hug my husband I give thanks.

My deepest sympathies.

That is so shocking. What a loss. Our oldest son turns 45 in 3 weeks, can't imagine losing someone that young.

My sympathy to you and the family.

You just never know. My husband, Rick, had a heart attack at 45, also. He is 6' 1" and 202 lbs. Quit smoking in 1972, doesn't drink much, and just isn't someone you'd peg for a heart attack. In fact, his cardiologist told him that if he had examined him the day before, he would never have been able to tell that Rick would have a heart attack the next day. The cause came down to stress, plain and simple! Fortunately, we got him to the hospital in time, they popped an aspirin in his mouth and after an angioplasty and a week in intensive care, he is here today to tell the story... and he has NO scarring or residual effects. A very lucky guy.

So I'm here to tell you, lose weight, stop smoking and RELAX!! No one gets out of here alive, but it would be very nice to be very old when it's my time!

My deepest condolences to your friend and the respective families.

Edited to correct my dyslexic typing - weight 202, not 220!

I'm so sorry sea-nile. I don't think it's weird at all that you posted this. Your friend is going to need all the support she can get from you. If we can help to lift your spirits even a little bit it's all for the good. Love and warm thoughts to you and your husband and everyone grieving your dear friend.

So sorry to hear about your girlfriend's and your loss. 45 are just too young to die. But you never know what the future will bring.

I have to tell about my girlfriend and her husband. We have talked so much about our trip to Caribbean last year, so they decided to celebrate their wedding day on a vacation to St. Martin and St. Croix. They also wanted a day on STJ. I had a question about the possibility here in the forum and had to tell them that I (we) couldn’t recommend it, too little time. But they did it though, took the seaplane to STT, the ferry to STJ and a taxi to Trunk. We got a mail from them the next day telling that they now understood, why STJ was number one for us. They returned from their vacation late Saturday, and my girlfriend send a mail on Monday telling that they have had a wonderful vacation, and she was looking forward to tell more about it. Tuesday her husband got a stroke! A strong and healthy person is now paralysed down the right side and cannot talk right. Their whole life is changed. But of course she is happy that he didn’t die, and it seems as if he will do progress. But it still a chock for all of us.

Take care!

I join the others in expressing my sincere condolences on the loss of your friend. To say 45 is too young is an understatement. This is a tragedy and I will keep your friend in my thoughts throughout the day.

I just wanted to thank everyone for your sympathy and condolonces. I find comfort in coming to the forum and I feel that there is just a real good bunch of people here that I call friends even though I haven't met most of you. This whole thing is a lot harder than I had ever imagined.

Sorry to be sappy, but I am being sincere.

Thanks.

God, I hate to hear that kind of news about anyone, even people I don't know.

Will say a prayer for you and friends.
