Who does everyone like (or dislike) for SCUBA rentals?

Hi guys! Back from another great trip. My family (hubby and 2 daughters) did the "intro to dive" with Cruz Bay Watersports out of the Westin. It was a bit wierd as we had mainly certified divers on the boat and my 3 newbies and me and 2 other ladies that were only there to snorkel. My family did their dive at the first spot as it was shallow enough and the rest of us snorkeled. My guys got about 3 minutes of instruction, got hooked into their tanks, and were told to jump in. Hubby had trouble taking in too much air and was not able to blow out enough of it. He finally gave up. My youngest (the one I was worried about) had no trouble at all and my oldest had some trouble breathing but sucked it up and just did it. She felt bad afterwards and I chalk that up to basically no instruction. So if anyone is going to do the "intro" course I suggest Collete. I know she is very slow to get you in the water, but at least you have an idea of what you are doing.

When I was doing my first 2 open water dives with Low Key, there was a guy doing the "resort course" intro to scuba at the same time. Our divemaster (Guy) spent a lot of time with him explaining the equipment and what he was going to experience under water (all the way out to The Ledges at Little St James). He had some trouble getting used to the sensation of breathing with the regulator, but Guy spent a lot of time with him ... which wasn't bad for me because I didn't have to go through a lot of skills on those 2 dives. The approach was definitely not "Jump in and breathe in and blow out".
