Items left in villa?

Nothing particularly interesting but we were lucky that our first three had an awesome supply of booze and kitchen staples, all of which looked fresh. One year there was tons of leftover St. John Spice coffee and teas, which was great.

This spoiled us because this year, the cupboards were bare (seriously nothing in the cupboards) except for one scary looking bottle of malt vinegar coated with grease and dust and ancient containers of garlic salt.

If you are trying to leave items for the next renters (people you know) try to leave the note in Spanish - alot of the cleaning crews do not read English (some can barely speak it either)

If you are trying to leave items for the next renters and want to guarantee that they receive it, leave the note in English and Spanish - alot of the cleaning crews do not read English - most barely speak it either.
Also, although alot of villa rental management companies have their crews leave the alcohol/food/spices etc for the next renters, there is at least on villa rental company that I know of that appear to have their crews take everything especially the alcohol and food (spices and paper towels etc they tend to leave at the villa) :(

I accidentally left my USVI Atlas at Sea Forever in Nov., but I sure didn't mean to! I tried to call the villa company but they did not find it. CypressGirl left her CD's and she didn't get them either.

In June I left a lot of rum and vodka. I am the only one that was drinking the stuff (husband only drinks beer) so I couldn't finish it. I hope that someone enjoyed it! :D

I don't think we left much booze in November.

We had the bestest goodies left for us by Jayseadee on our first trip.

We stayed in the same villa, well they were up & we were down  , as they were leaving a few days before us, they put a care package on our door step.
It was such a nice surprise to come home from the beach & find it.

Other than that most of the villa's we have rented do not have much in them.
We always leave any booze, water, dry goods for hopefully the next renter.

Last trip, the basket from the villa owner, had two good size "things" of cheese (how can you tell I hate cheese) so Hubby was the only eating it. We felt so bad leaving the larger piece of cheese, but also couldn't throw it out.

You can always call Ruth & she will ship them to you really fast.

We ordered some for X-mas baskets & it was here in no time.

Eric....I just went online & ordered the spice rub along with LOTS of other stuff: kinda got a few souvenirs 'bought' ahead of time. Ruth shipped them so promptly & I received them so fast.

My husband and I always leave behind our running shoes so that we can do carry-on only on the return trip. Pia - is there a used clothing drop-off somewhere on the island? This year we are taking our children and would be happy to leave their clothes and sneakers behind if there is a need.

What villa is it that has the cute little box of drawers on the shelf over the door? I remember people leaving stuff for other forum members hidden behind it. If I ever get that villa, I'm going to check and see if there's anything hiding back there that someone never got! :D

Hey JWC

The island "custom" is to leave any clothing/houshold goods at the dumpsters - just place them next to the dumpster and hang some of the clothing either 1) over the dumpster side (not my favorite) or 2) drape them over the bag that the clothes are in - someone will stop and pick them up for sure, probably within the first few minutes :)

Thank you for doing that :)
