Privateer Bay

Post by Lulu76 »

Hi everyone,

As you know we wanted to be on "the other side" of the island for our trip this year, and I think we've found the perfect house. And it's about as far on the other side of the island as you can get.

Has anyone been out to Privateer Bay? I know some of you go pretty far out, but we've never been further than that little beach next to Vie's (which was one of our favorites last time). Our drivers are a little concerned about the roads, and I know there will be construction noise because of the new developments out there, but does anyone have any other words of wisdom?

We haven't signed on the dotted line yet, so I'd like to hear what anyone has to say about the area, whether you've just been out there to visit or have stayed out there.

Also, in a slightly related P.S. Does anyone have the link to Rick G's guide for newbies?

Privateer is really not very far past Vie's, the road is fine. There are two sides to the subdivision, one overlooking Round Bay and over to Coral Bay, the other above actual Privateer. There is a another new subdivision past Privateer, around East End Bay, and they are paving their roads, using the Privateer road as access. I don't think they are even marketing their lots yet. There may be cement trucks coming through because of this, but otherwise it should be pretty quiet.

I think we are making an excellent choice based on the feedback so far.

But if anyone thinks that we are not, feel free to let me know before I send the GIANT check off.
