Calypos del Sol?

Post by mbw1024 »

I thought this property was handled by Vacation Vistas. I don't see it on Lisa's web site anymore. Anyone know where it went?

The owners have decided to take it out of vacation Vistas' list of properties and lease it themselves. We leased it last year from Vacation Vistas, and I am getting all kinds of corespondence from the owners now.

I don't know why they decided to not list it with Vacation Vistas, no one has told me the reason.

We just booked Calypso 12/1--12/13. We initially E-Mailed Lisa but recieved a letter from the owners before Lisa replied. The owners just stated that they were no longer using Lisa. Lisa's E-Mail back to us stated that she was reducing the number of Villas in her portfolio to best serve her clients. The owners said that they are going to use another agency. I just recieved the contract today and it is directly from the owners. They have been wonderful to deal with both times we have rented this Villa. There is a conflict on the dates for this December my wife and I are arriving on 11/29 and another party wanted to rent for the Thanksgiving week but leave on 12/1. The owners offered us the use their other Villa,La Bella Villa from 11/29/-12/01 for free with a Gift certificate to Sweet Plantains. Thats a no brainer. Also on another note just returned from a week at Chateau La Tete Rouge great place would stay there again.

OMG  We are renting this villa from Lisa in June. I just mailed her my final payment on Friday. I'd better give her a call to be sure this doesn't affect us. I'm so glad I saw this post!

CLIFFNCHRISTI:
I would not worry Lisa represents this Villa until May I believe. Everything will be OK, you will recieve instructions from either the owners or their representitive at the appropriate time. This will include who to call to meet you at the Ferry Dock etc.

mbw....there were 6 of us (3 couples) who stayed there last June. It was great! There are three bedrooms three baths. One upstairs and two down. the entire villa is A/C...and we really appreciated it last year. There was absolutly nothing wrong with the villa, everything worked well, all kitchen appliances, etc. I even donated a knife sharpener to the cause (I wouldn't swear that it is still there) because one of my main complaints is that the knives are always DULL! I cook, so I like a sharp knife, chef's or paring...they must be sharp.

the pool was wonderful, we used ti constanly, the hot tub worked well, we broke it in too. The location overlooking Chocolate Hole is marvelous for sunsets, so take your camera.

If you have any specific questions, I'd be more than happy to answer them.

I agree with everything and we had the same amount of people and are returning for 2 weeks. The only thing that I can nit pick about is the only bathrooms are in the bedrooms so the upstairs bathroom gets alot of customers.

Feel free to shoot me a PM anytime. I got a letter from the owners last Friday, and they mentioned the name of an on Island person, but I don't have the leter with me, so I don't have the name.

As far as Lisa was concerned, she was wonderful to work with. She met us at the ferry dock, took us to get our car, then took us to Calypso. We only had one issue while we were there, one afternoon, we had no water pressure. I called Lisa and she was out in 15 minutes, flipped a switch on the cistern and we were good. I cannot say enough good things about Lisa and Vacation Vistas. I cannot say anything about the ownwers or the new rep, since I don't know them, but I'm sure all will be fine.

I agree with Mark about the only minus. My wife and I had the upstairs bedroom, so everyone did tend to use our bathroom a lot, but it was O.K.

A real plus is the screened in back deck! NO BUGS!!! It was sooooo nice sitting out there with a drink (coffee, of course......yeah, right) and read a book or the paper, and not be constanly swatting at flying insects! I give it an A+++

thanks. I can't really tell from the pic's where the bedrooms are but I'm guessing 2 are off the side but below the pool deck. if that makes sense?
good to know on the bathrooms but i don't think it would prevent us from renting it. looks like there is some internet connection as well which will make the husband happy!
