25th Anniversary - What would you do???
I think that there's much to be said for returning again and again to familiar, beloved places. We're comfortable there. We know where everything is and how everything works. It also reconnects us with precious memories and refreshes them.
There's also a lot to be said for going to places we've never been to, but that we've dreamed of going to someday. There's some anxiety, but also there are the thrills, surprises and joys of discovering a place for he very first time. It's all fresh and new. It's exciting, something we've never seen before.
I'd suggest that if you haven't been to Hawaii, go to Kauai. If you have been to Hawaii, go to the Cook Islands. In either place, I doubt that you'd be thinking "Gee, I wish I was on STJ." You'll probably be back to STJ again, but you may never get geared up to take the big dream trip again.
