Ok I live in Birmingham , Alabama - we have a dusting of snow- it may be one half inch and there are wrecks all over the interstate-they have now closed some of the roads- we are so pititful when it comes to driving in snow- the last significant amount was March 1993 when we got a foot of snow- we had no power for a week then - anyway- thought you'd get a kick out of it- this is our 2nd dusting-had another in Jan or Feb- high today 38- will be on my way to St John next Saturday!! Oh the high tomorrow is 60 - We do not like being cold- could never live in the North!!

I remember that storm of March, 1993. We were living in Chattanooga at the time. We also lost power and everything shut down for over a week. We lived by our fireplace for the week. They don't sell rock salt or anything to help melt the snow - we had a cat, so we used all the litter to help with the slippery spots.

It was quite an adventure!

A foot of snow up here is still a lot, but it gets cleaned up pretty fast.

We had the same store in Fayetteville, AR. We were without power for three days. It would have been longer except we had my father-in-law at home recovering from heart surgery. That pushed us up on the priority list.

We live in Mississippi had the same conditions. My husband always says anyone traveling through our state during a little snow or ice must think we are idiots - everything closes and no one can drive! Give us the 100 degree heat and high humidity any day!
