Definitely a pool. I'm with FF on this one. My peeps like them but my bum stays out of them.

I would definitely pay heed to RickG's advice on the location of the villa/pool. Our pool at Rendezview, although rather large for villa standards, was virtually unusable because: a) it only got morning sun and b) the winds off Hart Bay were very strong. Those two items combined made for very chilly dips in the pool. Even our kids, who usually could care less about air/water temperature, didn't use the pool much due to those reasons. I will definitely pay more attention to which direction a villa faces next time around.

That being said, we really spend all of our time at the beaches, so other than a quick post-beach dip, we normally do not use a pool that much anyway. I guess it's a personal preference based on your use of a pool/hot-tub. Are you a beach person, or do you prefer the villa gravity route? That's what you need to think about.

Martini Girl, you understand!

One Hart Bay exception to the chilly wind is Dolphin Run. It has both Eastern and Western exposure with sunrise and sunset views. The pool is on the Western side and is in the wind shadow of the house. The blows through the house hard enough to know things off the dresser if all of the windows are open. No A/C needed there!

OK, so we are renting Sundance in May, does that mean that the pool will be cool??? Papabou maybe you can answer on this villa.

For me I am not a water person, but 4 of the others that are coming along love the pool.

Rick is it always windy in that area??? May need to bring my mucklucks to keep my toes warm

For those of you who love the pools, can you give some villa suggestions with private pools for 2 people for January under $3,500?

From the villa photos it looks like the pool faces due West. You should be cool, I mean good.

If you are working on your tan up north, do you get tan lines from your mukluks? Is it still dark 24 hours a day?

turtlegirl,

Check Lille Paradis (www.windspree.com). It is off Salt Pond road (via rough bumpy road). Built on 3 levels on the hill side with the pool on the bottom level, and, thus, very private. The pool has a large deck for sunning.
