First off a HUGE thank you to everyone involved. i truly appreciate your thoughtfulness.

i have narrowed the search down to the following in order from cheapest to most expensive:

Blue Caribe
$1325/wk

Starlit Escape
$1400/wk

Island Horizons
$1540+tax/wk

Villa Madeline
$1500/wk
he is giving me a great military discount)

Callaloo
$1595/wk

Windwardside Main House
$1645/wk

Mampoo Hill
$1750/wk

Drakes Lookout
$2250/wk

Calypso Cove
$2250/wk

Villa Aerie
$2592/wk

Any and all additional input on any of these villas would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to let me know of your favorite as well. I'm waiting on a response from Eric over in iraq to discuss these properties, if i could narrow it down to about five for him to look at that would be great! pro/cons of each?

thank you sooo much for everything. you have all been wonderful so far!!

Rick G posted a review of Callaloo click on the villa arental banner ( upper left). It apparently all open air, no A/C.

Wow! Good for you, Erika, I think I'd stay at Villa Madeline for that price-that is a fabulous deal.

i think we have a winner?

Post by erika9252 »

so even though i'm still not 100% sold, i spoke with Eric and gave him 3 choices to look at and then call me back...

Mampoo Hill
Starlit Escape
Windwardside Main House
Island Horizons

he chose starlit escape. any comments?
i'm still so in love with windwardside, i'm pretty sure he was sold with the whole happy hour tour thing. men. ha ha. i'm sure no matter where we stay it will be insanely fabulous.

so what do you guys think?

PS he told me to send his thanks along to each of you for your assistance in my stressful vacation planning endeavor. he truly appreciates it and cannot believe the hospitality that you guys have shown us "strangers". thank you.

ALSO: another problem...anyone know where we can rent a jeep? i am 24 and he is 23...ugh the 25yr age limit is killing me right now. strange one can go fight a war but not rent a jeep. geez. any suggestions or info?

okay guys...
due to a situation involving a dear friend of my boyfriends in iraq i have been forced to choose a villa. we have run out of time and starlit is our only option, the owners have held the villa for quite a while and i have decided to just take it.

iraq...what an awful place, i just want eric out of there, where he is safe and sound, with me, in st.john.

heaven.
6 weeks till our trip, 6 weeks until he is 100% safe.

thank you all so much for your help so far. i will most definitely keep in touch with further plans, ideas, and questions.

god bless.

PS please keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this tough time.
