First Timer Looking for Villa

Post by turtlegirl »

Hi everyone, I am very glad to find this forum. This will be our first time staying in St. John, have been to Trunk Bay once on a cruise... We have our tix for January 2009 and now need to find a villa for 2 people. Besides safety, cleanliness, and relatively easy access, we'd like privacy, a large sundeck with comfy lounge chairs and a hot tub or pool. Our price range is under $2,600. Island Cottage looks cute, but I'm concerned the deck may be too small and that it may be too close to other villas-it's vrbo.com/108972
Blue Caribe-looks cute but no sundeck-screened in porch only? In Harmony Retreat looks very nice as does St. John Livin, worried that Livin may be too close to others. Can you please give me feedback on any of these 4 villas regarding location, etc? Thank you VERY much. Suggestion for other one bedrooms would be much appreciated as well.

Welcome!

Don't overlook two bedroom Villas in your search, you will get an overall larger place for not that much more $$$.

Welcome turtlegirl!
We stayed at St. John Livin' last year and loved it. It is a great little villa for 2 people. It does share a drive with Island Dreams and Pink Horses. Livin' is at the top of the hill though, so they can't really see onto the deck unless they are coming or leaving. We felt like there was plenty of privacy.
I would be happy to try to answer any more questions for you.
Another villa (just barely above $2600. high season) that I think looks good is Fun and Contentment. I haven't seen it in person, but I think it seems to be great for the price. Here is the link:

I was going to suggest Cielo Vista, which is a two bedroom, but we stayed there for a week in October for $1750.

It's a great villa, with privacy, a huge deck, a pool, shaded and sunny areas, excellent kitchen - we just loved it!

But when I went to Carefree Getaways web site, it's no longer listed there.

Does anyone know who is listing CV these days?

If you like maps and visuals, you might appreciate the Google Earth Villa location maps I made with alot of help from other forumites...

Maybe look at Peterbay Gatehouse & Cinnamon Tarn...I fell inlove with Northshore views once I saw them...
