Teddy Salad comes from a skit on the old Monty Python's Flying Circus show. He was a top-notch CIA agent who amazingly managed to disguise himself as an Alaskan sled dog.

Why Teddy Salad and not Mr. Wensleydale (the cheese shop proprietor who had no cheese in his shop) or Arthur "Two Sheds" Jackson (the composer who got stuck with his nickname because he was thinking about getting another shed)? Not sure, I guess I just like the ring of it.

Shari is just what my mama named me. She took the spelling from Shari Lewis and Lambchop. Guess that tells my age, huh? :)

Fostered retired racing greys for 8 years - getting them acclamated to life off the tracks, i.e. stairs, traffic and tv noise, hardwood floors, etc. and ready for new homes. Wonderful, sweet couch potatos, so happy to have a home. They sleep a lot, short hair for those with allergies, the best companions. After our girl died at age 14 we decided to pass the torch on to other newbies. Fostering is wonderfully rewarding but lots of time and energy. Perhaps one day I'll have another grey......

I thought about changing my forum name to my offline nickname, Dr. Emilio Lizardo. But I want to keep my virtual life and real life separate.

Cheers, RickG

McPenguin5 - My son's friends used to call him "Penguin" when he was in grade school. It became a nickname, and I even went so far as to embroider a huge penguin on the leg of a pair of his jeans when he was in high school. I kind of took to the whole thing, and when he outgrew the nickname, I kept my fondness for the creature. I loved "Bloom County", the comic strip, with Opus the penguin and the joke for a while about "mcpenguin burgers". When I had to select a screen name when I first went online, I went for McPenguin, but it was taken. I took McPenguin5, and that has been me ever since.
That was wordy, wasn't it. Hmmmm.

Mine is simple - I am always ready for somewhere that is paradise. Not saying that my normal life isn't paradise, but I have always loved somewhere tropical(Which the Wine Country Of Napa Valley, California is not) - So Ready For Paradise!

Puddlejumper was the name of my jet ski back home. My dad came up with the name for it. Thought it made a good name for me on the net.
