Husband retired 2 weeks before his 50th birthday and went back to her fist love...designing kitchens and bathrooms. I work part time for a real estate office.

Travel has always been important for us and we take at least 2 trips a year. Usually, one to Sanibel Florida and then to St. Thomas.

Where there's a will, there's a way.

Well, another geek here - I have my own strategic technology consulting company that I run day-to-day while working full-time hands-on with clients who are large media and financial services companies as well as small technology product companies. I moved out of big corporate tech consulting so I could come home to the kids each night.

Cheers, RickG

Well, I'm a mom. I don't get paid much, but it works for me! I have a great college degree and prior to kids I was a real estate appraiser. I loved it! I have to figure out what to do next since the kids are getting older....

Juice (hubby) is also an engineer but works in sales for a heating and air conditioning company. They sell to commercial type clients - schools, corporations, etc.

Here too, no inheritance, no trust funds, and like B-as-ur, my kids can expect the same!

I'm an operating room nurse. Hubby is a general/vascular surgeon. Three teenagers, a boy and 2 girls. My son is blind and attends Maryland School for the Blind in Baltimore. We're big animal lovers...currently have 3 very spoiled dogs. When I win the Power Ball I'm going to purchase an apartment on New York's upper east side. We love STJ, Charleston, New York, Colorado and Maine.

I'm a field HR Director for a disease-management company (healthcare). I have been in Human Resources for 21 years and like b-as-u-r, I'm seriously thinking it might be time for a career change. I don't want to hear any more moaning, whining, b**ching & complaining. I want to be limin'. Is Deli Grotto still for sale?

Hubs & I have a dog walking and pet sitting business that we enjoy very much; more than our old jobs in computers and science. I have had to take a different day job as dogs that pull have really done a number on my body, so now I sell insurance for the Good Hands people and help out in the pet sitting business when I can.
When will I see St John again?

Another IT geek here: I'm director of marketing for a software company. It's a small company, so I do all things marketing -- PR, events, writing articles, etc. I'm blessed to work most days from a home office, so I can zip out to things like school functions. (I traded a higher salary for more flexiblity years ago, and can't imagine going back!) I'm not passionate about it, but at least it helps finance my vacation jones. :)

DH also stepped off the corporate ladder, leaving a job as a portfolio manager at an international bank to own his own business, doing cleaning and contracting work for the parking lots and drive up areas of banks. He traded a suit and briefcase for a bunch of trucks! But he's happy and also works from home, which is great for both of us. The variable income makes life interesting...

I'm an engineer by training currently managing the engineering department at an internet vertical website targeting engineers. My better half is an RN at a specialty women's/maternity hospital.

Currently trying to figure out how not to be an engineer and still support my household... :)
