Its Amazing These Reefs Survive

I thought this was an interesting little article, reflecting in a small way the perpetual problem of reefs surviving the increased attention from visitors (like me):

I'm not meaning to pick on that particular boat---things like this, or small boats running over reefs, must happen with some frequency. Its great that the park service is as vigilant as they are in protecting it, but its a difficult battle.

This accident is very bad timing for that boat, as the owners are attempting to get approval to turn it into a floating restaurant/nightclub anchored in Christmas Cove. I know some locals are already starting to organize against this business plan.
