maho bay camps

Post by amyk »

Returning to maho after several years and have a couple of questions - since it's saturday and i'm impatient, i'll hope for answers here instead of calling them. can we get dropped off at gibney on frett's way into town and picked up on way out? is there a payphone at maho or quick email access? sheets and pillows? walk to waterlemon doable? we are in decent shape. thank you.

Frett will be glad to drop you off anywhere along the north shore road and will keep an eye out for you on his way back. There was a pay phone there and probably is still there unless it was taken out because everyone has cellphones and it was no longer used at all. They had a couple of computers, but we never used them. They do provide sheets and pillows. We've walked to Waterlemon (we've actually walked a good bit beyond, over to Coral Bay on the Johnny Horn Trail), so it's "doable". But "doable" is relative. I've read some posters complain about the walk from Annaberg to Waterlemon. A lot of the walk is pretty flat, but it's nice to catch a ride up the hill to Maho on your way back if you can.

There was a payphone and a small computer/internet room when we there last year. The only time I got bad mosquito bites was while in the computer room with no bug spray on!
