Roe, as far as what you can carry on, review the TSA regs: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/ ... items.shtm
In a nutshell, one quart sized bag for liquids. Fill it as tight as you can, but no container can be over 3 ounces.
I don't know the answer to your other questions. Since you have to present a birth certificate and other official paperwork (I think, but I travel with a passport) then I don't think you can check in online.

i have all 1.5 oz of my origins products from when we give samples away.
i have a makeup bag to put them in, is that ok?
i have my passport and drivers liscense, never needed a birth certificate before?
i am going on spirit. already did my seats and they say you can go online up to 24 hrs b4 to print out boarding passes.
i went in 2005 to stj from tennessee and had no problem but so much can change in almost 3 yrs.

Unless it's clear (you can see through it), skip the makeup bag and put everything liquid or gel in a quart size clear ziplock. (I used a gallon size once when the regulation first started and almost got booted out of line.)
Remember that you can have one carry on and one 'personal item', be it purse, laptop case, etc. My personal item was a backpack (I skipped bringing a purse) so that I could carry on a few more things.
Re: check-in: definitely print your outbound boarding pass from home before you go. Then you go straight to security and show your boarding pass and ID. For your return trip, you can print your boarding pass at Connections (one in Cruz Bay, one by Skinny's.) (However, that didn't work for me because I booked through United but my return was on US Air.) If you book and fly through the same airline you should be fine. Then you skip the check-in line and go straight to the security line.
I brought my passport, no birth certificate. But I didn't leave US territory. I don't think you need a birth cert if you have your passport, but bringing a copy wouldn't hurt.
Carry on is the best! In addition to the samples you're bringing, you can bring sunblock wipes and bug spray wipes -- those don't have to go into the ziplock because they aren't liquid.

Just saw your last post. All your little samples (little bottles, foil pouches, etc.) go in the ziplock. You only need travel containers if you are going to bring something like shampoo that you take out of a bigger bottle and put into a smaller one -- has to be 3 oz. or less. Mascara you don't have to worry about. I kept that in my carry on bag, not the ziplock. I had chapstick that wasn't in the ziplock; for lipgloss that's liquid or gel, you might as well put that into the ziplock to be sure.

so I can NOT bring samples? They are not in clear anything. They are in a smaller version of what Origins makes to sell customers.....
As far as sunblock, I cannot bring my sunblock which is CLINIQUE and is 5oz and not clear?
My clients travel all the time and I guess they check their bags which IS different for security?

It is really very simple:
Nothing over 3oz in your carry on
Put ALL toiletries and make up in a quart size ziplok bag so that there are clearly visible. DO NOT use any other bag or they can and, in most cases, will throw the entire bag and it contents away. If you have larger than 3 oz of anything they will throw that away, too.
You also have to remove it from your bag and put it on the security belt, so pack it at the top of your bag so you can get it out easily.

Thanks, it makes sense now.
I am on meds for my neck so sometimes things do not jive......
So I will just take my products 3oz and less and put them in a clear qt size ziplock and leave it on the top of my knapsack. That way when I open it, no worries.
I will just have to buy sunblock on island or borrow from someone........
I think I got that right?
