villa needed- would someone like to save me about 10 hours

Post by djmom »

and suggest one?

My neck is starting to hurt from searching and I am already getting confused! We are bringing newbies right around Thanksgiving. 2 couples, 4 kids. There is a 11 year old boy and we have a 11 year old girl, so they can stay in the same room but not the same bed (gross!) If they return in the next year I am sure we will need to seperate them, but we don't have to worry yet (I hope not~). We each have little girls also that can share a bed.

Here is what we need, does anything come to mind???

budget around $6000
pool of course
hot tub (really want that)
4 bedroom, at least one set of twin beds
kids bedrooms close to an adult bedroom (not in a seperate cottage or downstairs)
no scary driveway or scary access road!!!
avoid construction

nice to have:
ac in adult bedrooms

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My suggestion is call up the rental agencies and give them your requirments and have them suggest a list. That should provide a starting point that you can whittle down .

I know , I can do that, but I trust the forum more than the agents!

I just am hoping someone will read my post and say "we stayed at the perfect place JUST like that!"

Vida de Mar is great for kids and has all your requirements, except the twin beds are in a separate cottage. We took our kids there and loved it. But, our kids are a little older - I wouldn't want little kids there as the cottage is right on the beach.

I agree with the other poster that you should contact an agency as well.

No problem, I just thought that with a more managable list you might find it easier to get some forum input

Check out Villa Rendezview on Hart Bay. It's in the $6k range (in season)... 4 BR, 2 king upstairs, king and twins downstairs. No hot tub, but a big pool. It's a really nice place, we were very comfortable there. Listed with Island Getaways. I posted some pictures on my recent TR. Good luck.

You might look at Oceana through Vacation Vistas.

HA! I was just coming here to post the link to that house. OP, the kids could have their own bedrooms here and come in under your budget. Plus, it will put you close to the Westin, which might be another plus with the kids. The only minus in my book is that the pool is kind of small for such a big house. Check it out:

Forgot to mention that Rendezview's driveway is a piece of cake, and there's a/c in the BRs. We took the upstairs BRs and the other family had the downstairs BRs, that way respective kids were on the same floor as their respective parents.

I've been hunting for a similar set up and one I found is Crystal Seaview through Catered To. It has two separate bedroom areas, but each of the two areas has an adult bedroom and a connecting twins bedroom. A/C throughout, but no hot tub.

Others that appear to have interior staircases and close bedrooms are Le Lapin II (Caribbean Villas), and Villa Venturoso.

It's been difficult to find ones with the bedrooms clustered together, I think most villas are set up for maximum separation and privacy between the rooms.

Take a look at Vistaero. It might work for your group. Pretty much fits all of your requests.
