Lurker planning first trip

Post by latuller »

It's time to come out of the closet and start to say thank you to everyone for the great info. We'll be on St. John March 16-22 and can't wait! It was -25 when the kids went off for school today and we'll be ready for some warmth! I'll likely post this question again, but my husband is looking for a fishing charter to join up with one day. Anyone there that week planning a fishing day?

I would contact griz and see what he has booked for that week, he may have room on one of his days

Minus 25 – That’s insane. Doesn’t propane freeze somewhere around that temp. Welcome to the forum. If I were you, I’d go to STJ and not come home until it’s at least plus 25. Sorry I can’t help with the fishing thing, but the whole -25 has got me cold.

Hi Latuller -
I'm from Minnesota too. I can relate to the cold weather we are having. I can't wait to get out of here. Unfortunately I am going to have to wait to see St. John for another year. Brother in law talked us into a cruise this year. After the last few trip reports I am regretting that decision.

Sorry I can't help you out about the fishing but I'm sure someone here will be able to.

Good luck....stay warm

Hi Latuller -- welcome out of lurkdom! We spent the weekend in Wausau WI skiing with friends from Eden Prairie MN. We all drove home in a blizzard. These friends were invited to join our recent STJ trip but couldn't make it; they're regretting it now and talking about STJ with us in 2009. I hope the temps convince them to plan for a STJ get-away!

You will love St John! Have fun!

lataller - I feel for ya. We started out at 8 degrees this mourning and hit hit a high of 24. Not to factor in the wind chill which put us back down to zero.

chicagoins - Only 120 miles south of ya, but you guys got it harder this winter than we did.

CAGIRL - Margo - I sent you some snow. Watch for a soggy envelope in the mail

Just need to see what my ticker says now.

Thanks for all the cold weather sympathy! We hit -20 again this morning. St. John sounds better every day! I'll post the fishing question again in a week or so with a subject line about fishing. Fun to be part of the forum!
