There is NO WAY I am going in these frozen lakes. It's hard enough making the short trek in the snow from our bedroom sliding door to the hot tub!!
By the way, we've had enough snow and cold now, don't you think? This must be a record.
Good luck to you brave souls. I'll watch it on the news.

I just wanted to say Thank You to the polar plungers for supporting Special Olympics. I do not jump into freezing water, but I help out wherever I can. I chaperone State games, write thank you notes and Bill coaches a basketball team. It's all good! Let us win, but if we cannot win, let us be brave in the attempt.

Oh, I've been practicing alright - last weekend we were at a hotel in Indiana and I jumped right from the hot tub into the pool a few times. It was cold.
Then today I went and swam laps at a local swimming school - the water was only 90 degrees or so.....!
I think I am in for a major shock! The weather here is expected to be around 20 - so a nice little heat wave compared to last weekend. Juice is afraid to jump in, so I will have him take some pictures for you.
And KSEA, I thought of you and DJ when I signed up. I used to volunteer for Special Olympics here in Wisconsin back in my college days - it is truly a great organization.
Wish me luck, a warm breeze and lots of sunshine!

Oh My God! The water was really, really cold - unexpectedly cold! They had to cut out two feet deep blocks of ice so we could jump in! I loved it though and will be excited to jump again next year!
I think you all should vow to do it at least once - it benefits Special Olympics - which is an awesome organization.
However, there was a mom in front of my group who jumped with her 5 year old daughter - yes only FIVE! Maybe the little girl really wanted to, but she sure was sobbing as she ran to the hot tub. Not a good idea.
I will get some pictures up when I can!! I'm going to start a fire in the fireplace now and cozy up to it!
