Has anyone been to these villas?
Hi,
Newby here... I've been doing lots of research on 5 bedroom villas on St. John. You all have lots of great thoughts. I'm considering 3 villas right now. First, C'est Bleu, sounds great, I'm not sure about that location. I think I prefer the North Shore. The other 2 I can not find any opinions on. 1. Francis Bay Estate and 2. Villa LaSusa. I appreciate any thoughts you may have. This is a couples trip for a bunch of 40 year olds. We like upscale, but not pretentious. Thanks for your help. (Who IS Jorge, and does he need a mistress?)

Hi Peggy---We have a group of 5 couples that we have traveled with to St. John 3 times. We haven't rented any of the 3 villas you mention, but have considered all of them---they all look great. We stayed at Coco de Mer on the North Shore one year---it is directly next door to Villa La Susa. Seacove and Delfina are also 5BR options in that area--those were a little more expensive as I recall. We really loved Coco de Mer---very equal bedrooms, great view, pool, hot tub.
We also stayed at Villa Panache on the south side and really enjoyed that as well. Its not as fancy as the other villas just mentioned but has a sensational view and wonderful great room/kitchen with very nice furnishings. I thought it was a great value, too.
We also stayed at Monte Bay ---last year. It was a pretty house in a good warefront location, but the bedrooms are very unequal and I wouldn't recommend it for 5 couples---better for 3 couples.
C'est Bleu looked great to us---its just never been available for our dates. Francis Bay Estate also looks wonderful---5 equal bedrooms which is nice. Happy hunting!

Peggy,
We stayed at Francis Bay Estate for two weeks in September, 2006. It is indeed a lovely villa with gorgeous, breathtaking views. Francis Bay beach is within walking distance. We drove in to Cruz Bay most evenings for dinner...not a bad drive. Coral Bay is about equal distance, but most Coral Bay restaurants were closed during the first two weeks in Sept. The furniture, both indoor and outdoor was extremely comfortable. The two main level bedrooms are equal...the 3 on the lower level (pool level) are nice but not as nice as the upper bedrooms.
Would we stay there again? Yes we would....but not in September. The villa faces due west and the heat was unbearable...no breezes either. The a/c in the bedrooms worked great.
If you have specific questions; please feel free to pm me....mia
