Secret Harbor for "me" time
Secret Harbor for "me" time
HI,
I'm extending my next trip for a few days for some extra beach and "me" time.
I know I would be comfortable by myself anywhere on St. John, but Secret Harbor seems to be the perfect place with the beach, snorkeling, bar and restaurant all right there. And, the WOW wouldn't be so bad if I get to go back to the beach off the ferry
Any concerns with my staying there alone? I wouldn't think so, but know many of you are familiar with the property and location.
thanks,

I think you will be fine! If I was alone, I think I would choose to enjoy the night water views from my balcony rather than out on the beach, but I the first to admit that I am an overly cautious person.
I can tell you that we have seen security patrolling the beach area after dark, and they do take down all the hammocks at sunset.

It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
I am also overly cautious and probably wouldn't take an after dark stroll along the beach. I would just need to get to/from my unit and the Blue Moon.
I was planning to request an upper floor unit, but my understanding is nothing is guaranteed. The oceanfront rooms (not suites) seem to be located by the lobby/restaurant.

No, you want beachfront. Oceanfront are up the hill. Kind of a long walk in the dark for a woman alone (in my overly cautious opinion). If you stay beachfront you will be closer to everything. In fact, if you want to be really close you could request building one floor three (for the upper views)--it's right next to the restaurant.

Are you the reincarnation of my mom?Ksea wrote:Roomie - While I applaud your decision to have "me time" for a couple of days, I want you to be safe. Do plenty of research and if all else fails, stay on STJ where folks can watch out for you. I bet you could dial Ruth or Pia in case of 911!

I promise I'll be careful.
