Which Villa for honeymoon in June??
Thank you all so much for your suggestions!
Has anyone stayed at any of these:
Caneel Trailside Cottage
French Cap
Seascape
Sea Stone Villa
I think we might have to split out stay between 2 villas since I am having a hard time finding one available for 12 days.
Also, how expensive is the island in terms of food and alcohol? The man and I would be happy with the "catch of the day." Has anyone ever hired a chef?
Thanks again!!!

There are some reviews of Sea Stone and Caneel Trailside Cottage if you look in the review section here:

My husband and I stayed at Splendore for an anniversary trip - we loved it. It is on Maria Bluff - I like that area but the villa gets LOTS of sun in the afternoon - we were usually at a beach so it really didn't matter. It has two bedrooms both w/ king size beds and has a pool - and a great water view - no beach.

Depending on where you go, I'd count on the "catch of the day" costing at least $25, probably more like $30...it seems like the "catch of the day" is often at the top range of prices for any particular restaurant. Also, how expensive is the island in terms of food and alcohol? The man and I would be happy with the "catch of the day."
We're bringing friends this year so I pulled out our credit card statement the other day from our most recent trip so I could tell them what to expect as far as restaurants go, so here's that info:
The Lime Inn - $74 dinner including tip, 2 meals, 2 drinks (meaning 1 drink each)
Morgan's Mango - $68 dinner including tip, 2 meals, 2 drinks
Rhumblines - $66, dinner including tip, 2 meals, 1 or 2 drinks (I remember that my husband had his favorite drink there but I can't remember if I had a drink or not)
Cafe Roma - $51, dinner including tip, 2 meals, 1 drink
High Tide - $55, dinner including tip, 2 meals (bar type food), 2 drinks
The Lime Inn - $75 dinner including tip, 2 meals, 2 drinks
Ocean Grill - $33, lunch including tip, 2 meals, 2 free drinks (so tip reflects drinks)
If you want specific examples, here is a food menu for Morgan's Mango:

and drinks:

Morgan's Mango prices are pretty average for a sit-down place in STJ, an example of a pricier place is ZoZo's (my husband got the surf & turf special a few years ago and it was $65):

Hope this helps
