Hello, and weather in early August

Post by efrank »

Hello! I visited St. John back in May 2002 and had a wonderful time. Got a lot of great information off of this site and from the wonderful people that frequent this forum. So, Hi, it's great to see you are still here :D

My husband and I are going to be traveling to STJ for our 10th anniversary this year in early August. While looking for villas, I was really focussing on finding one with a hot tub. This was based on our experience in May of 2002. The pool at Tango Mare was wonderful during the day, but once the sun went down and it got a little cooler, the pool was just a little too cold. We really had wished for a hot tub as well to get in after dinner.

So, the question is, will I need/want a hot tub in August? Or will the pool stay warm enough from the days heat, in addition to the fact that I'm sure its not going to get as cool at night? Will the north-facing vs. south-facing pool have an effect as well?
TIA!!!

Hi and Welcome Back!

We went in both May and August of 2007. I have to say that August was my favorite. It was cooler then. We were in our hot tub almost every evening. We would start out in the pool and quickly get to cold and need the hot tub. I never felt too hot in August and in May there were times I thought I'd melt. Enjoy the villa hunt! I really do recommend a hot tub! We stayed in Sundance Villa managed by Marcy of cloud nine villas in August and while it's not fancy, it is completely air conditioned which is nice during the heat of the day. It was totally well kept and in good shape. We really enjoyed the decks and hot tub and it's a great price!
