Since we are talkin' about it...How is the weather in May?

This will be my first trip to STJ and I would love to know what the weather is like in May? Does STJ have a rainy season?

We had a great time at the beginning of May last year. It rained the week before and SEVEN DAYS LATER THE MOSQUITOES CAME OUT. Everthing was fine once we moved to the villa room with window screens. This could have happened any month.

We were there last year in May, after the rain and mosquitos. We had perfect weather. It rained during the early morning hours a couple of times ... just enough to make the island even greener. It was beautiful. We originally planned to go back in May this year, but had to make it June instead.

In May '05 the weather was post card perfect in May! The same week last year was the week after the rain and we had more mosquitoes than you can imagine. Weather was showers every day, sunny most of the time and really nice

(except for the skeeters!)

I'm so glad I found this forum...Thanks...my guess is a bad weather day in STJ would beat any day working! We will be going May 4th-11th and staying at cloud nine...can't wait! especially as the snow continues to fall outside...they said we were only gonna get a flurry!

Any month on St John is a good month. May was great when we were there ya never know about the rain though. We'll be there the same time as you in May this year if all goes well it'll be perfect weather. We seem to be blessed in this aspect. In all the beach vacations we have taken only one was a washout and we have taken alot of them

We'll be there the same time (April 30-May 10) and we only travel with sunshine...we NEVER bring rain with us.

So all will be well.

May 01 --- Lots of rain but still a great week.

May 03 --- NO rain

May 05 --- tiny bit of rain

If there is anything I have learned from following the forum is that fluky rainy weather happens any time of the year and more often than not the weather is great. Even when we had a rainy week we had a lot more sunshine than rain.
