plastic bags....

Post by parafins »

In our local paper there's a write up from Washington about plastic bags and how bad they are for landfills, ect. I always wondered why the V.I. gov. hasn't put a stop to this.I'm sure these have entered the waters around S.T.T. and S.T.J. many times over. Now please don't get me wrong,i'm not a tree hugger {well maybe a Raintree hugger},but I love the islands and the coral reef and would want to protect them from these bags.Parafins...

When I was on Grand Cayman a couple of weeks ago, I pulled THREE plastic bags out of the ocean. And you don't even want to know how much plastic had washed up on the beach at the East End. Yeah, I'd say it's bad.

I haven't seen any plastic bags in the waters off of STJ, but my first trip to Francis Bay, I did see a baby diaper and a tampon in the water just off the beach and was totally grossed out AND dissappointed.
