Gallows Point is a very well maintained property - a great place to stay! You are close to stay and depending on which unit you stay in, you will have great views of St. Thomas or Cruz Bay Harbor.

Zozo's is wonderful! We make a point to dine there at least once each trip.

Congrats on your choice!

Thanks so much- i've read some reviews of restaurants and i think I've narrowed it down to Zozo's(on my birthday), Morgan's Mango, Lime Inn, Banana Deck and maybe the Fish Trap- i've read mixed reviews on Fish Trap- my mother will be with us and she like nice restaurants but my 13,15 year old will be with us so we are trying to go to nice mediocre restaurants that aren't too too upscale- we may even leave them at condo one night and try an upscale one- which do you recommend-Equator or Asolare?

I haven't been to Morgan's Mango, Equator or Fish Trap. Banana Deck will be great for the entire group. Asolare is a wonderful place for that special night out. Amazing food and equally wonderful views. For the group, I agree with Lime Inn and would add Cafe Roma. It's a small place but the food is wonderful and affordable. Miss Lucy's in Coral Bay is wonderful for Sunday Brunch. I also always like the Beach Bar for lunch - the tuna down now has had rave reviews and Skinny Legs in Coral Bay is a must for burgers and the atmosphere. In general, I think you'll find the food is overall pretty good on St. John. Have a great vacation!

PS Agree that ZoZo's is perfect for your birthday - go at Sunset if you can. Our friends' wedding reception was there and we'll celebrate his birthday on February 23rd - can't wait!

For your "Grown-up's Night Out", you should consider Stone Terrace. Very, very nice and couldn't be easier from Gallows.
Have a wonderful trip!

Zozos is terrific.

This is just my opinion, but I dislke Morgans Mango greatly. I've been there three times, and I typed in all the reasons why I dislike it, but then decided to edit because I know some people love it. I'll just leave it at this: my issues have involved food quality, service issues, behavior of fellow patrons, and very "interesting" musical acts.

One nice place I would recommend instead is La Tapa. I think you will find that everyone in your group will be able to find something to eat there. They'll make off the menu stuff for your younger folks.

Banana deck is great for yummy casual food.

Lime Inn is fun and has well prepared seafood.

Another couple of recommendations: for breakfast, the Deli Grotto in Mongoose Junction makes a mean breakfast sandwich, and they have internet access too.

For lunch, the fish tacos at Ocean Grill (again, Mongoose Junction) are really good. I have not been there for dinner so can't comment on that.

Another Cruz Bay place on my personal avoid list: Margarita Phils, blech.
It's like looking in your soup and finding a whole different alphabet.
