need help with PM'ing

Is anyone still awake out there? If so, I need some help please. I just tried to PM someone and the message said it was sent, however it has been stuck in the outbox for a while. I copied and sent it again and it is still in the outbox and not the sent box, is this normal? I've only sent two other PM's on this site but never paid attention to where it went as long as it said "your message has been sent"

I think it says that until the message gets picked up by the recipient -

right, it stays in your outbox until it is read by recipient then it moves to sent.

and if the person has it set in their profile, they will get an email letting them know that they have a PM and you don't have to depend on them to visit the forum (although who stays away for more than minute? )
