Back from Grand Cayman - trip report soon come! Teaser pix!

Post by California Girl »

Hi! Got back from Grand Cayman at 2 a.m. this morning. I haven't read my e-mail or gotten caught up with the forum yet, but here are a couple of teaser pictures for you. It was an interesting experience, and it can't begin to compete with St. John. I'll try to get a report posted soon :D

ME AT STINGRAY CITY - an absolutely amazing experience!

A BLUE IGUANA AT RUM POINT - I love the way it matches the ocean!

Welcome home CG -

We went to Grand Cayman a few years back (in between STJ trips) and wished we were on STJ the whole time.

We did get some good snorkeling in and loved Rum Point (looks like you did too!). But, we both were bitten by fish when snorkeling! One even drew blood!

I'm looking forward to your report too!

I saw one big sucka' of a barracuda on East End. About 5 ft!! He swam right toward me and showed me his teeth. Glad I had my fins on that day because I think they helped me walk on water!!

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear the details and see pictures!

Tracy, I got bit by a fish once in Bermuda. I could not believe it! It was just this tiny little thing, and it came up and took a round hole right out of the tip of my finger! I was really annoyed!

Let's just put it this way.... I doubt I'll ever go back.

And if I did, I'd spend all my time at Stingray City. :D

Going to Stingray City changed my wife's life (and I suppose mine too, indirectly).

GC is a polar opposite to STJ in many ways, but there are some nice beaches and dive sites.

Glad you're safely back CG - looking forward to the report!
Come see us!

Here's another teaser picture. This is Capt. Jimmy coaxing an eel out of his hole to feed him. It was really cool. I have a couple other pix of the eel that I will post with my others when I get them all edited.
