Dinghy question

Post by Armchair Traveler »

We are staying in Coral Bay and would like to rent a dinghy for one of the days we are there. What is the better choice for rental? Crabby's in CB or one of the places in Cruz Bay. We would love to explore as much as a possible, and the only must do is exploring Waterlemon. Thanks!

I don't think Crabby's is renting any more.

Crabby's wasn't renting in Sept. even when he did you couldn't go to Water lemon so your only choice is to rent one in Cruz Bay

thanks for bringing the cold weather our way for this Sunday's game

Are the ocean currents that strong on the east side?

He would only let you stay in the Coral bay Hurricane hole area. Game time temp here is suppose to be 8 with a wind chill of below zero and going down from there here on Sunday.

My advice for a dinghy rental from Cruz Bay is....get one with a center consol steering wheel. So much better than the rear hand held motor control we had before. It also had a 50hp motor, so was pretty fast for a dinghy. I think we rented from Calypso. $195.00 for a full day. We went to waterlemon and all around the North shore beaches. Lots of fun.

DINGHY ?

What kind of range do you have in a dinghy. Can you get all the way around STJ. Can you take them to the BVI's [Soggy $ or Foxys].

You have to stay in usvi waters and they will only let you go as far as waterlemon but that was a whole day with stopping at all the beaches we wanted to on our way back.

I was at Crabby's a couple of weeks ago and he (Doug) no longer rents dinghys (we tried). I didn't see another place in Coral Bay for dinghy rental, but I wasn't really looking.

Doug does rent kayaks, and will pick up/drop off in Princess Bay if you're interested.

Have fun! I really liked the Coral Bay area!

Thanks! This is our first time and Coral Bay just seemed to suit us better. Cant wait to check it out. We are staying in Astral Cottage and are over scheduled city people looking to just relax and be very low key.
