I saw this video a few days ago on OnSt.John.com, it's a cool informative video. He claims it to be gilligans island from the tv show. Then there was about 3-4 "opposing" comments about the video of where others claimed it was filmed elsewhere... so who knows...
Interesting :?

Out of curiosity, I just checked YouTube for old video clips of the Gilligan's Island opener. The first and second season intros are entirely different. Check out the first season's; the shot at the very end looks like it could very well be Sandy Cay.
What do you think?

I looked in YouTube and yeah, your right, season 1 and 2 are obviously different. As far is it being Sandy Cay I have no idea, but I think this is where all the confusion is, and everyone is right. One of them is the place in question, and another is in the Virgin Islands?

Gilligan...

Post by parafins »

I remember watching Gilligan's Island as a child in the early 1970's.It was and still is my favorite rerun.I remember how wonderful it seemed to be on a tropical island with palm trees swaying in the wind, sandy beaches, and yes....Mary Ann's coconut pie! {Even then I thought she was a hottie!!} 8) When I visited S.T.J. for the first time in 1994,I was suprised to see cactus scattered around the island. The reason I was suprised was that I never had seen it on Gilligan's Island! Have a good day! Pianogrl,a poll sounds like a good idea!! But don't forget Mrs.Howell! She may appeal to the older crowd on this forum! And yet..maybe... the younger set.Think about it...older lady with lots of money-could get you a bunch of trips to S.T.J.!You might even get to say at Peter Bay! :D Parafins....

Parafins...you are so right! NEVER count out the more mature & wise older ladies!! We definatly need to add "Mrs. Howell" to the list.
