white bay on jost van dyke
We would like to visit White Bay/Beach on Jost Van dyke while we are staying on STJ this June. We have passports and have stopped there on snorkeling trips in the past. Isn't there a ferry that goes from STJ to Jost? If so where can I find info regarding times and location. If it drops us off at Great Harbor - Foxy's how do we then get to White Bay/Beach? Thanks again for your help. Or- if not the ferry do you recommend a sailing trip that would take us to White Bay? We have a family of four. Thanks again

We are considering taking the ferry to Jost when we are on STJ in a few weeks. You can find the ferry schedule under the Trip Planning drop-down menu above. Look at "getting here" and you'll see the schedule. The ferry to Jost from Cruz Bay only goes on Friday, Sat. and Sundays. From the dock you can then take a taxi to wherever you want to go. I have gleaned all this info from a previous post, as I have not done this yet.
A private boat charter is also another option, although more expensive. We did that last year, on Born to Rhumb, and loved it. Lots of freedom to go where you want, very enjoyable.

Once we got off the ferry, there were taxi's there waiting.
The driver gave us his card when he dropped us off at White Bay and we called for a pickup when we were ready. From White Bay, we had him drop us off at Foxy's; after a couple of painkillers and some shopping, we walked back to the ferry dock.
Since we just wanted to spend the day on Jost and not do any snorkeling along the way, it was cheaper to take the ferry and gave us more time on the island.
