If we only had 6 days, we would do something like this:

Day 1: Francis (jet lag)
Day 2: Maho in the morning, followed by Hawksnest.
Hawksnest has facilities to clean up in. So
you could visit town on your way back. While
at Hawksnest, you can swim over to Gibney for
a bit, 3 in one day.
Day 3: Leinster
Day 4: Salt Pond
Day 5: Honeymoon in the morning, stopping at Caneel
Beach for a lazy afternoon and fruity drink
from the bar.
Day 6: Pick from our favorite above, or maybe you
can visit Trunk.

Just a thought!!! Either way, you can't lose!!!!

We always try to hit Maho at different times of the day.

Love it early

And of course you take the Maho Tunnel to get there.

Alot of good suggestions here each beach has its own special personality and only you can decide which will be your favorite. Mine happens to be Solomon.Heres an easy way to see a ton of beaches in a week without being rushed. Start with the first North shore beaches and work your way down.

1 Solomon and Honeymoon Park at Caneel and walk to either, snorkel the point that separates them, tons of fish there. If ya want you can check out Caneels public beach you walk right by it heading to Honeymoon. Pretty good snorkel there head to the right, all the way to the point it gets real good.

2 Hawksnest and Gibney Park at Hawknest you can swim over to Gibney and check it out. Make sure to snorkel the center reef at Hawksnest and go to the end towards the no boats bouys lots of fish and a ton of healthy elkhorn coral.

3 Trunk if its busy and ya want to get away from the crowds take a left all the way to the rocks really beautiful down there. Snorkel the trail

4 Cinnamon huge beach snorkel the island. To the far right theres a little coobblestone beach tucked away around the corner.

5 Maho great beach usually really calm, good snorkel right side all the way to the point heading to Little Maho

6 Francis Big beach least favorite of mine but lots of people love it supposed to be good snorkeling to the left towards little Maho. I did the right and wasn't to crazy about it. Beware this beach can be buggy.

7 Go back to a favorite beach or pick anyone of the many others.

That should put a smile on your face. You'll be planning your next trip before ya know it to go discover the many other beautiful beaches of St John.

My List
1.Honeymoon/ Solomon - I like to hike down
2.Cinnamon ( They have beer in the little shack on the beach)
3.Salt Pond w/lunch at Shipwreck Landing or Skinny's
4.Maho-only a few steps from your jeep
5.Jumbie/ Gibney
6.Trunk/ Hawksnest- both very beautiful beaches but they can be crowded. I usually try to stop at one or the other on the way back to CB in the late afternoon after my trip to Maho or Salt Pond. Trunk can be quite nice at this time and sometimes they won't charge you.

We always come back to Maho for the simplicity and beauty...and it's easy to move the cooler and snorkel gear from Jeep to Beach.

Good list of beaches - and an amazing bit of consistency. The "Birds of a Feather" principle.

Little Lameshur - don't go there. Long drive, but one of the gems of the island.

One of my favorites is Brown Bay. The hike in is long, but the beach is beautiful, sandy, and empty. One year we came upon and excavation in progress. In the middle of the beach above high tide was a 50' log canoe burried in the sand. Canoes like this were used by the indians and later by the slaves. It was never moved and is now covered up. The bay is shallow and grassy, and once when returning from a dive (go east around the point) I swam into a school of bonefish and permit grazing in the shallows...can it get any better!?
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

I took a break last night, as I was getting forum addicted this close to my trip! Need the fix of learning more inside info ;)
The pictures, the stories, the wonderful details! This is perfect, thank you again and again.
cptkirk and traveler, I may just print out your lists, sounds great.
Also, good to know the spots where beverages or food can be had, in case lugging a cooler seems like too much work!
