Jost/Lion in DaSun trip suggestions

Post by traveler22 »

Hi,
We will be on St.John (6 adults) in a few short weeks and will be going out with the Lion in Da Sun guys. We would like any suggestions (and reasons why) for favorite places in and around Jost Van Dyke. We have been to the Baths/ Devil Bay area of Virgin Gorda so that's out this trip. We would like to stick to the Jost area since this will be our first trip there.
As always thanks for all the help!

Josh will stear you in the right direction. Sandy Key would have to be on the list and it goes without saying White Bay and the Soggy Dollar. Something I have always wanted to do and haven't made it to yet is the Bubbly Pool. Here is a video I borrowed from youtube showing it.

Thanks Captainjay-
That looks cool, reminds me of the caves between the Baths and Devils Bay when the chop is good and the water rushes in.

The bubbly pool is amazing! It isn't always working (needs to have the right swells) but Josh will be able to tell you if it is. We are going to go out with Josh for the first time in February (our old Capt moved to St. Croix).

Have an awesome trip!

I second Sandy Cay. Talk about a little slice of paradise. I go back there in my memory when I'm having a lousy day and it definitely helps to think of that gorgeous scenery. Do make a stop there, it's way worth it.

Jay, I love that second photo. I really regret not asking our taxi driver to stop to let me take some photos.

I had a great day with Josh on Lion last year. You can incorporate lunch at Foxy's Taboo if you visit the Bubbly Pools. They have great food at Taboo. If you are looking for some great snorkeling, Josh will take you over to Caves/Indians in the morning before hitting Jost. And of course, you must go to Sandy Cay...as everyone says. Finish up with White Bay...there is not a more perfect day! :D

I took that photo in 2002 when the girls thought it would be a good idea to WALK to Soggy Dollar from Foxys! The guys took the dinghy over and had to serve us many painkillers to help heal the pain from walking!! But it was an awesome day so it was worth it. :D

bubbly pool

Post by sherban »

I want to go to Bubbly Pool because I think it would be fun, thanks for the clip Cap'n...

It's funny that there is a place called Natural Pool on Aruba that my wife and I went to in June 2007...it was a blast and really seems kinda similar to Bubbly...
