Anyone here rented a vehicle from Hospitality on St. John?

Post by Carebare »

I made a reservation for a jeep earlier today, and it just seemed a little strange - no confirmation, no paperwork, they just wanted my credit card and dates. Any experience renting from them?

I haven't rented from Hospitality, but from what I read here on the forum, that's typical. Everyone's very laid back about confirmations and such. I'm sure if you phoned or e-mailed them and asked them for "proof" they'd provide you with something, but I really wouldn't worry about it. :D Call them a week or two before you go to STJ and confirm with them at that time and I should think you'll be fine. When are you going? Have a great time!

Thanks for your reply, it makes me feel a lot better. I was just happy that I could even find a jeep to rent, I figured they would all be sold out. We are going Feb. 15 - 23. I am so excited to go to StJ, I don't know how I am going to be able to sleep for the next 6 weeks!

I believe that Hospitality is owned by "the Smoothie-Guy". His name is Thomas and he owns the smootie stand across from the Post Office. He is a real real nice man. His wife also makes "care baskets" or "welcome baskets". We had one delivered to us last year from state-side friends. It had all kinds of island goodies in it! when thomas and his children delivered the basket to us at Lavender Hill, my girls said " Hey !!! Isn't that the Smoothie-Guy???!!!"

Hey Carebare - Is this your first trip to STJ? If you can't sleep, log on to the forum, I'm sure there will be others here in the middle of the night with the same ailment!

Yes, first time! Do you have any suggestions for must dos? I ordered that feet, fins and 4 wheel drive book. Your pictures are great California Girl! It was good to see the pictures of Cruz Bay, that is where we will be staying.

You must visit The Beach Bar. You must shop at St. John Spice and meet Ruth & Ron. You must have a smoothie at the smoothie truck on Centerline Rd. You must not take too many clothes. You must take lots of $$. You must leave your day-to-day worries behind and downshift into "island time". 8)
