Just one more time - forever!

Post by snorkelqueen »

We've been coming down to St. John for six years now and every year we announce will be our "last trip"! And of course, every year we begin making resevations for the next year before we even start heading home. I'm wondering how long other forumites have been going to St. John and if anyone can really imagine not going back!

Our first trip was 2007 and we currently have two trips planned for 2008. We have another family that wants to join us in 2009. Yeah I'd say we are hooked!
STJ is perfect for our family, hope it stays that way.

Our first trip was June of 2000, married on Trunk Bay in May of 2001 and February 2008 will be our 13th trip since we've been going. I have no plans to 'never' stop going. We have a total of 25 days booked for 2008 (between our February and May trips). It's my favorite place - my Disneyland!

PS Love your dog! We have a yellow Lab, Lager is 11 1/2.

Nope, can't imagine not going back! Our first trip to STJ was March '06 and when we return in May it will be our fifth trip. I think we have the STJ bug. Prior to that we went to Negril, Jamaica on our honeymoon in 1998. No travel for five years then two trips to St Lucia, one with a day trip to Grenadine Islands, and back to Negril again. Nothing holds a candle to STJ in our opinion. I almost wish there was another island that I would want to check out. BTW, we did like the other islands for various reasons, just happen to like STJ more. I like the looks of Grenada but it is a heck of a long day there and back.
Going "home" again October 26th!

Our first trip was in 1973. Since then we have owned a condo and a boat on STJ and have visited every year at least 2 or 3 times. We have sold the condo and just 2 weeks ago sold the boat but we will still go back to STJ every year. It's a home away from home.

I spent 4 days on STJ in March of 1996, moved in July of 1996, left 4 1/2 years later, went back 8 months later, stayed away for 7 years and made 2 trips last year. We will be heading back in June and I think I have him hooked!

I call it my "yearly therapy". I have been to other islands but in my mind they don't compare. When it's all over I'm with Jorge but on a different beach/ waters, Honeymoon!

I said I wasn't going this year but..... we'll see. It's not because we don't want to but we also want to do other things and sometimes can't do it all. I am trying to be reasonable this year. But...we'll see! 8)

Honeymooned in 1995 and enjoy it as much today as the first time.

Yes, I am already thinking about a summer 08 trip as well as early winter 09!

We have been to several other Caribbean destinations and Mexico but keep coming back because of the ease of reaching St. John. There are several places I want to see but when I look at the travel arrangements, I get lazy.

We've only been to STJ twice. This year, we decided we couldn't take off enough time to make a STJ trip worthwhile. We are going to Mexico instead, but regretting the decision. Next time we'll just take the leap and schedule days off so we can return to STJ.

I knew I wanted to come back the minute I saw STJ from the ferry. The first trip was in 2005 and twice in 2007 and now one planned in 2008. I am hoping for 2009, but college starts for the daughter.
