Plane Wreck Story?
OK, call me stupid, but on our last trip to StJ a couple of years ago I went out snorkeling and looked for it without success. I'll be headed back next June and would like to check it out. Is there any chance someone who's seen it could give me specifics as to how they found it? I read the book, followed the directions, or tried to, but saw nothing. Any possibility of specifics?
Thanks for any help!

CHAMPION 7GCBC
I did a search on the NTSB database and I only found one aircraft incident referenced to St John USVI. There were many referenced to St Thomas and a handfull near St Croix, but only one in St John, my guess is this is it. It is listed as a CHAMPION 7GCBC aircraft, having a pilot of 42 years of age in 1971. Says he lost control in wind gusts... Were there newspapers in St John in 1971? (sorry for my ignorance)...maybe it was in the newspaper, I'd love to hear a first hand account of what happened...Is there a historical society on island?
Directions: Walk out onto Cinnamon Bay beach turn to your left as you face the water. Walk to the end of the beach from there follow a trail over the rocks to Little Cinnamon Bay. Once on Little Cinnamon Bay's beach look for a rock wall from there head into the water. Once in the water go out to where it starts to drop off ( about 15 - 20' ) the plane should be in that area. In about 10 to 15' of water. If you don't see it right away it may be more to the right of the wall (back toward Cinnamon Bay). The drop off is close to the beach goes from knee deep to 5 or more feet (mini underwater cliff). Hope this helps.

Jeez, I hope I find it... this is on my "to do" list on our return trip. I'm going in July, so don't move it on me irfglfin!
This is a neat topic.
