Just fishing for a story here...I've seen plenty of photos of the plane wreck in Cinnamon Bay but never saw anything about how it got there...does anyone know the story? :?:

Post by sherban »

...and just for fun, to sweeten the deal, here's a link to a Google Earth placemark to a smuggling plane that went down in the bahamas, there's alot of story to this one...mostly unverified to my knowlege but all related to the infamous Carlos Lehder...

I have no idea how it got there, but we enjoyed snorkeling over it last June. There should be some info on it somewhere...:)

Probably spare parts that fell of a barge on the way to Tortola and washed into the bay. How's that for letin the air out of the balloon.

Thanks JJ for where it is exactly. As to the story, if I were to take a gander... well I think the pilot wanted a permanant vacation when he was flying over head and decided to ditch the plane and jump into the water and swim to shore... maybe an old hermit living on island somewhere :D  Hell, I'd do it! :D

That's funny, I was just about to email Pam Gaffin (author of "Feet Fins and 4 Wheel Drive") when I saw this post. I figured she'd know....
