I can't decide - Daytrip boat

Post by Badger5 »

Hello all,

I cannot decide on which boat to book for a daytrip in March over to Jost. There will be 5 of us - 2 parents in their 40,s and kids ages 8, 13, 14. We want to go to Sandy spit, the bubbly pool, and White Bay. I have it narrowed down to Palm Tree Charters, born to Rhumb, Scubadu, and Bread on the Water. Please Help!!! I know I have asked before, but I still cannot decide!!!

Thank you!!

Do you want sail or power boat, if sticking to your plan is important I would opt for power.

I cannot recommend Born to Rhumb highly enough! We have spent the day with Captain Kevin on our last 2 trips and we again in April. His boat is fast and comfortable and he's get you whereever you want to go!!

There's a description of our day with Palm Tree Charters at http://www.virgin-islands-on-line.com/f ... e8481b5f2c

We liked it enough book Capt. John for our March trip with the kids.

I don't intend to complicate your decision, but here goes. I always thought (and still do a bit) that I was a powerboat kind of girl, but after our day on Bread on the Water I found a great love for the total experience of sailing.

If you are more about getting there and having fun, then powerboat is the way to go.

If you are more about enjoying the experience on the water and also having fun, then I highly recommend Gary & Joan & Bread on the Water.

We spent a day with Capt. John in July and have booked another day in April. We had 2 teenagers with us and a 60 plus year old (aka the spouse). We all enjoyed the day and Capt. John was very patient with everyone. His boat is in excellent shape and rides well. He'll take you where you want to go and/or suggest spots depending on what your interests are. Hope you have a great trip!

Born to Rhumb with Captain Kevin was fantastic.

We had 9 of us and I cannot recommend him enough. He will take you wherever you want to go and he will even let you bring your lunch on the boat with you (there's alot of charters that won't). Because we had 9 people, we wanted more time on the water and less time spent somewhere eating lunch. He's a great guy, with a great boat and we had the time of our lives.

I HIGHLY recommend him and we're going back this May again and we can't wait.

We are doing Born to Rhumb in February and I can't wait. Did Scubadu a few years ago and enjoyed it but want to cover more ground this next trip.
