It's been a long time.....

Post by jectac »

Well, it's been a long time since my last post. Last time, daughter, age 10 enjoyed Anneberg after a long fight with Leukemia (the Good, the Bad, the Ugly, PRICELESS (our report) In a nutshell, Dx 12/04... St John 1/06... relapse, 5/06, transplant 7/06. ST JOHN 1/26/08.

Question is.... has anyone stayed at the Best Western Caribe? Hubby can get a free ticket if flying in on Friday. Best Western seems like the safest bet for one night on St Thomas. Any input?

Thank you,

Tracy

Never stayed at the Best Western Caribe, but we love the Best Western Emerald Beach. Right near the carib and near the airport. I hear emerald is a lot better, and it is on a white sand beach. Nice bar and resturant on the beach as well.

We stay at least one night before going over to St. John. If you have any questions let me know.

We have stayed at the Mafolie several times for a day or two www.mafolie.com They are one of the few hotels that will let you do a one or two day stay. There is a great restruant on site and million dollar views.

If you have to stay at the airport the Best Western Emerald Beach gets alot better reviews than the BW Caribe so that would be my choice for airport accomodation.

If you are open to other places - check out the Crystal Palace. Ronnie from this forum owns it - great guy with alot of history - I think you would really enjoy it there.

I am so happy that your family will be able to go to STT and STJ - what a difficult ordeal for you all. I volunteer for Make A Wish, so I hope you were able to take advantage of their wonderful program.

I have no input about the hotels, but wanted to send my best to you for a great trip - we will be leaving the island on the 26th so will miss you.

I've stayed at both and will avoid Caribe in the future. If it must be Best Western, choose Emerald Beach.

Other options we've enjoyed for 1 night:
Green Iguana and Villa Santana

I stayed at BW Emerald Beach last Friday night and it was great! Our friend stayed at the BW Caribe and I tried to switch (just to be at the same hotel) but BW Caribe was full. Just to say, the lady at the counter told me that I had the better BW (Emerald Beach). So, if the staff thinks so, it must be. Yes, I would definitely recommend BW Emerald Beach. Have a great trip & Happy Holidays. Ali~

My daughter stayed one night at Emerald Beach and found it very pleasing. Friends are staying there for one night very soon...

Hope your family has a wonderful and well-deserved trip.
